The first step toward earning your Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation is to complete both the Advocis Core Curriculum Program for CFP® and QAFP™ Certification and the Advocis Advanced Curriculum Program for CFP® Certification. The capstone course, CFIN 812 - Advanced Personal Financial Planning, then provides integration of professional skills with financial planning competencies and the technical knowledge learned in the first five courses. FP Canada requires each student in a capstone course to prepare a complete written financial plan based on a provided case.
